Location

Intersection of Clarence Street and York Street Ottawa, ON (see the map below).

The site is an infill lot, with a through-passage from Clarence street to and open courtyard space (parking lot) on York Street.

Objective

Design of a puppet theater, a space, which is dedicated to the experience of passage and thresholds

Proposal

The shadow puppet theater explores the nature of light (wave and particle movement) and the way a shadow is created (ray of light meeting an obstacle) in relation to tectonics and circulation of the building.
